Our experts provide legal expertise and court representation in deportation and expulsion cases to Armenia and from Armenia. We have been successful in suspending and eventually terminating expulsion of foreign citizens from Armenia to countries where they faced real and imminent risk of being ill-treated or exposed to flagrant denial of justice and discriminatory prosecution. Some expulsion cases were terminated following interference of the European Court of Human Rights under Rule 39 proceedings that our experts litigated successfully in that court. We have helped those who faced discriminatory prosecution in their countries of origin to claim asylum and obtain refugee status from Armenian authorities, including, where relevant, to claim remedies in administrative courts against controversial decisions of migration bodies. Where clients received refugee status in Armenia, we represented them before the Interpol to terminate international search warrant under Article 3 of the Constitution of the Interpol which forbids the organization to undertake any intervention of activities, including issuance of international arrest warrant, of a political, military, religious or racial character. In addition to involvement with expulsion proceedings, our lawyers were hired to appear as local experts in deportation proceedings in the courts of the United States, United Kingdom and Russian Federation where deporting states were aimed at deporting Armenian citizens to Armenia or to a third safe country.
Along with providing legal aid, we also shared our expertise with domestic law enforcement and migration bodies, individual attorneys and legal experts of relevant non-governmental organizations by providing training seminars to their employees, officials and experts. Our lawyers were invited to participate in local conferences and working group meetings held by the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, the UNHCR and the State Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia.
